13.56 MHz ICODE SLI RFID Contactless NFC Ticketing Cards

DAFTags 13.56 MHz ICODE SLI RFID contactless cards are designed for ticketing, supply chain, parcel, baggage, and asset identification projects. The cards use the ICODE SLI chip and ISO/IEC 15693 interface for compatible long-range contactless systems.

The card requires no battery and can be read or written when used with a compatible reader and antenna configuration. Card material, printing, encoding, numbering, and security settings should be confirmed before production.

Customer Pain Points

  • Not every contactless card uses the same protocol: ICODE SLI operates under ISO/IEC 15693, which is different from ISO 14443 NFC cards. The reader and software must support the correct standard.
  • Long-range performance is not the same in every installation: The supplier lists a read/write range up to 1.5 m, but actual performance depends on antenna geometry, gate width, card orientation, and the surrounding environment.
  • Ticketing projects need reliable card control: The chip supports anti-collision, EAS functionality, a privacy password, and a destroy password. The required security setup should be agreed before production.
  • Card production involves more than the chip: Artwork, magnetic stripe, barcode, numbering, signature panel, punching, and encoding must be coordinated so the finished card fits the system.
  • Buyers need a configuration that can be repeated: Material, thickness, finish, and card craft should be confirmed for each batch to avoid inconsistencies between production runs.

What Is an ICODE SLI Ticketing Card?

An ICODE SLI ticketing card is a contactless smart card built around the ICODE SLI chip. The RF interface follows ISO/IEC 15693-2 and ISO/IEC 15693-3 and operates at 13.56 MHz.

The card is suitable for ticketing, parcel and baggage handling, pallet or case tracking, container identification, and asset management. It does not need a battery and is powered by the reader field during communication.

Reader and Antenna Compatibility

The card requires a reader that supports ISO/IEC 15693 at 13.56 MHz. Reading distance is controlled by the reader power, antenna geometry, card orientation, nearby metal or liquid, and the gate or handheld configuration.

Send the reader or gate model, required read distance, number of cards in the field, and encoding or security requirements. The supplier can then confirm whether ICODE SLI is the correct chip for the project.

Procurement Notes

Before production, confirm the following details:

  • Reader or gate model and supported protocol
  • Realistic read distance for the installation
  • Required EAS, privacy password, or destroy password setup
  • Artwork, printing, numbering, barcode, or magnetic stripe requirements
  • Card material, thickness, and finish
  • MOQ, sample policy, packaging, and production schedule

FAQ

Will this card work with a standard NFC phone?

ICODE SLI uses ISO/IEC 15693, which is different from the ISO 14443 Type A protocol used by many NFC cards. Confirm the phone or reader can support the required workflow before selecting this chip.

Is the read range always 1.5 m?

No. The supplier lists a range up to 1.5 m depending on antenna geometry. Actual distance depends on the gate, reader power, card orientation, and environment.

Does the card need a battery?

No. The card is powered by the reader or gate antenna during communication.

Can the cards be printed and numbered?

Yes. Printing, numbering, barcode, magnetic stripe, punching, signature panel, UV logo, and encoding options are listed. Confirm the exact card craft before production.

Can the card be encoded before shipment?

Encoding is listed as an available card craft. Send the required data format and security settings for confirmation.

Are other ICODE chips available?

ICODE SLI-X, ICODE SLI-S, and other options may be available. The correct chip depends on the reader, memory, security, and application requirements.
